Gartner Newsletter focuses on Linux

The latest version of the Gartner Group’s newlsetter focused on Linux. Included in this newsletter was a link to an article they recently published as a best practices guide for deploying the Linux OS. Executive IT Forum – April 10, 2003 Agenda

The next Exectuve IT Forum meeting will be April 10 at the Hilton (I-385 & Haywood Road). It starts at 7:30, goes till 1:00 and includes a continental breakfast and a hot catered lunch.

The agenda for the April 10th meeting addresses the following subjects:


1. “A CIO’s guide to the strengths and weaknesses of ROI calculations”


2. New I.T. security technology advances


3. Highlights of the 2003 Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT leader’s conference


4. Off-shore outsourcing


5. A directed working session to develop an updated outline IT security policy (That addresses to latest guidance by the FBI, new federal regulations, the Strategic Infrastructure Protection Strategy, and latest advances in new IT threat technologies)


6. Clyde Fowler, Director of IT for Rockwell Automation, will present a snapshot of the IT strategy used in his company and lead a group discussion on the advantages of his strategy and solicit group comments on how it might be fine-tuned.


All in all, this next Forum promises to be very interesting and includes some valuable take-aways for the participants.
