Project: The Sterling Center

The GSATC community outreach program is soliciting donations of computer equipment and furniture in order to set up a computer lab at the Sterling Recreational Center.

The Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson Technology Council (GSATC) has joined together with the Greenville County Recreation District to help provide technology assistance to The Sterling Recreational Center. The Sterling Recreational Center is a neighborhood athletic and after-school activity center located near Saint Francis Hospital off of Dunbar Street in downtown Greenville. The Sterling Center is open year-round, serving Greenville children and adults with after-school programs including academic tutoring, weekday and weekend athletic activities and monthly neighborhood gatherings.

The GSATC project will assist in acquiring and setting up donated equipment, as well as providing technology guidance. So far, GSATC has acquired 4 computers for the center. The Sterling Center also has acquired 2 monitors and a printer. There are still many items that are needed for the lab to be completed, and are located on the wish list below.

The development of the computer lab at the Sterling Center is a direct result of the vision and hard work of two special teenagers. Last summer, a rising senior at Christ Church Episcopal School, Lauren Willett, began the task of creating a computer lab in an unfinished space at the Sterling Center as her senior project. To accomplish this task, she raised approximately $20,000 and oversaw construction of the room. This year Larry Fischer, an upcoming senior at Christ Church Episcopal, has taken over the task of the completion of the computer lab as his summer volunteer project.

The completion of this lab will bring the availability of computers, Internet research, e-mail, and technological education to a group of people who may not otherwise have access to this type of technology.

If you need additional information or have ideas to help make this the finest computer lab this community can have, you may call Earnest Adams, Activities Director of Greenville County Recreation District at 288-6470 or, Larry Fischer or his mother Deborah Maybank at 299-3739. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please make the check out to “Greenville County Recreation District” and send it c/o Larry Fischer 124 Hidden Hills Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29605. If you are interested in making a technology donation, new or used, or can assist in the creation of the lab, please contact Paul Waters of GSATC at pswaters@neurocomm.net.

TechPeopleUSA Launches New Website

ThinkHammer Communications has recently completed a brand new website for TechPeopleUSA. “TechPeopleUSA is now open for business anywhere in the country.” Says Director Joel McCreight. “Our website enables prospective clients to send us résumé’s or important job requirements whenever it is convenient for them.”

As an IT staffing firm, TechPeopleUSA provides certified technology trainers, programmers, and network professionals to business. “Companies find that they do not have the time, skills, or resources to conduct their own searches for qualified technology professionals,” says McCreight. “Hiring the wrong person is expensive. We reduce the risk by first gathering job requirements and then matching them against our database of pre-qualified candidates.” All of the required information can now be collected via
www.TechPeopleUSA.com.

“TechPeopleUSA wanted a website that reflected their experience and expertise” says Phil Yanov of ThinkHammer Communications. “In our creative process we asked the right questions to get them a website that strongly communicates their unique brand. There is nothing cookie-cutter about their new logo or website. It is all about them.”

TechPeopleUSA is a full service IT staffing firm with years of experience in working with Information Technology professionals. IT Professionals and firms requiring them are invited to learn more about their services at
www.TechPeopleUSA.com, by calling 864-241-0546 or sending email to info@TechPeopleUSA.com.

Release – eBridge Technologies Releases Latest Software Package, iPQA

eBridge Technologies recently released its latest software package, iPQA.  This Internet-based Product Quality Assurance system enables manufacturers to consolidate all quality data across the entire distribution chain throughout the world. “With iPQA, companies can now verify the quality of the shipments before releasing them to the customer, regardless of where the product was produced” said Brad Cunningham, President of eBridge Technologies.  Already implemented for Liz Claiborne in 77 countries, iPQA has proved its value by now providing consolidated QA data in a fraction of the time than was previously available to the apparel leader, resulting in tremendous savings and improvements in quality to the end consumer.

iPQA is a web-based application for collecting data from all manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.  With many of our modern manufacturers sending their production out of the US, iPQA is needed more than ever before, because it can integrate to any facility anywhere and give the control and visibility back to the parent company.  This application is securely available over the Internet to the client’s associates and suppliers for the purpose of evaluating and improving the quality of client products and ultimately offers higher quality to the end consumer.

All manufacturers want to improve their overall quality offering to the consumer and lower the overall level of product defects.  To best achieve this goal, the entire distribution chain needs to be held accountable and all QA inspections have to be able to be consolidated in a reportable format.  Therefore, making it possible to provide a complete audit trail for any defective product found in an inspection, allowing for the responsible party to be identified and corrected moving forward.  iPQA enables this ultimate goal of overall improved product quality for the consumer.
