GSATC August 2003 Meeting - Does IT Still Matter?

GSATC August Meeting (Register)
August 20, 2003 | 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

The August meeting of the Greenville Spartanburg Anderson Technology Council is coming to the University Center. We will be presenting the results of our recent IT development and project management survey, and our featured presentation will a very lively discussion led by Philip Yanov, the Executive Director of the GSATC.

A recent article in the Harvard Business Review says that IT Doesn’t Matter. The position of the article’s author is that IT, like telephones, railroads, and electricity, is a commodity that can no longer confer strategic advantage. The article created a firestorm in the industry press and quite a bit of discussion among the Upstate’s IT Executives. This month’s program from the GSATC will discuss the article, what upstate IT professionals have to say about it, its impact on your job, and what you can do to stay on your feet.
