QS/1 Data Systems Announces Hosted Solution

Spartanburg, SC – QS/1 Data Systems the leading provider of software for pharmacies, announced its first hosted i.e. Application Service Provider (ASP) solution for independent pharmacies, RxCare Plus OnDemand.  This RxCare Plus OnDemand solution is based on QS/1’s RxCare Plus software, which is in use in thousands of pharmacies nationwide.  QS/1’s approach is about providing independent pharmacies and schools of pharmacy with additional pharmacy management implementation choices.

RxCare Plus OnDemand offers independent retail pharmacies a chance to enter the pharmacy market with very little investment.  RxCare Plus OnDemand hosted solution eliminates server maintenance, resulting in increased productivity and more time for pharmacists to provide quality service to their customers.

QS/1 hosts RxCare Plus OnDemand in multiple data centers to provide redundant networks, power, equipment and data back-up.  By allowing QS/1 to store data in redundant data centers, pharmacists can eliminate their worry over losing valuable customer data due to power outages, network or equipment failures.

“We increased our product offerings to include hosted solutions to give customers greater flexibility, convenience and cost effectiveness.  We will continue to provide clients with solutions aimed at strengthening their businesses,” says Ed Willett, QS/1 Marketing Accounts Manager.

QS/1 provides the server software installation and configuration support. They also monitor and manage the servers to ensure that customers always have the most up-to-date software.  In addition, QS/1 provides all RxCare Plus OnDemand customers with automatic price updates, clinical updates, virus updates, claims transmission and software maintenance.  No customer IT resources are required to use this solution since QS/1 handles all the systems and software maintenance, monitoring and management.

The first customer to use QS/1’s RxCare Plus OnDemand solution is Arkansas State University-Searcy.  According to Janet Liles, Arkansas State University-Searcy Pharmacy Lab Instructor, “QS/1 has always been ahead of other companies in offering the most advanced Pharmacy Management Software solutions, and this RxCare Plus OnDemand solution provides us with a strategic advantage in attracting future Pharmacists.  The real benefit is that this RxCare Plus OnDemand solution eliminates the ongoing system maintenance and software upgrades required to keep these systems running at peak performance.”

QS/1, a leading provider for pharmacy software, serves more than 9,000 customers in independent pharmacies, drug/food chain pharmacies, institutional pharmacies, hospital outpatient pharmacies and HME businesses.  QS/1 is a division of the J M Smith Corporation, the fourth largest privately held company in South Carolina.  For additional information, visit the QS/1 website at www.qs1.com.
