GSP Developers Guild Meets 5/18

The .NET Framework introduces four new and easy ways to write
asynchronous code, and Microsoft’s Doug Turnure will be on hand to discuss how to write well-behaved multi-threaded code at the next GSP Developers Guild Meeting.

GSATC May Meeting at Palmetto Expo Center

Join the Upstate Women in Technology on Thursday, May 13 for lunch as Carin Slader presents an interesting topic on computer viruses, pop-up advertising and spyware. Carin will discuss how to recognize them, how they work, and how to protect yourself from identity theft.

Anderson serves on the interim board of directors of the x.org foundation, is the President and Chief Developer of netSweng, LLC and has been the lead developer of the Linux Standard Base project since 1998. Stuart has had numerous world-wide speaking engagements on the subject of Linux standards and has written on the subject of Linux standards for the Linux Journal.


Stuart’s presentation for the GSATC “How to make money with free software – Getting Started with Open Source” will be a real world primer on the state of open source and how you can use it in your business..

IBM Acquires the Business Continuity Services unit of Schlumberger

The GINESYS Corporation has announced that the Executive IT Forum is now officially a University of South Carolina Executive Continuing Education program.  USC has joined the GINESYS Corporation as a permanent co-sponsor of the Executive IT Forum. 


“The USC Sponsorship significantly increases the public prestige of the Executive IT Forum” says GINESYS Corporation President, Ric Routh. “It also allows participants to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for their participation in the Forum.” Forum Participants earn the equivalent of one CEU for each Forum.


The next Executive IT Forum will be held on USC’s Spartanburg campus on May 12.
