Over 300 people participated in last week’s Information Technology Job Fair at the Crowne Plaza hotel. The Greenville News’ Jenny Munro reported the Wednesday before the event that the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that many IT jobs will grow faster than the average job sector between now and 2012. She points out that computer and information system manager positions are expected to grow “much faster than average” while computer programming jobs will grow about as fast as average.
In after the event interviews, exhibitors have reported finding great candidates at the event and in fact placed candidates in positions within the week following the fair.
