Kemet delivers capacitors. Lots of them. They are selling a commodity good in a competitive marketplace and if Information Technology could ever make a difference in any business, it’s here. In a stressed-out business covered up with competitors, Kemet’s CIO, Dan LaMorte gave his IT department a brand new question — “How can we impact the business?” Dan’s project to revamp IT and select projects that can change the way Kemet delivers capacitors to his customers is the topic of the GSA Technology Council’s November Learning Lunch.
Dan LaMorte joined KEMET in May, 2004 as VP and CIO. His business experience spans over 35 years with the majority spent in IT management. His career though includes two stints outside of the Technology arena when he had the opportunity to spend 5 years as VP, Worldwide Marketing & Sales with the Electronics Division of French-owned Elf Aquitaine and 5 years in Operations and Supply Chain Management with Fisher Scientific, a Laboratory products distributor . He has extensive International business experience having worked with both German and French owned companies
