SC Launch! has announced that it is seeking new applications from a broadened set of service industries for its partnering program to support Knowledge Economy start-up companies throughout South Carolina.

SC Launch! is looking for companies and firms representing these service industries: marketing, advertising, public relations, insurance, information technology, human resources, staffing, and facilities. Deadline for applications is Feb. 16.

“One mission of SC Launch! is to identify, nurture and grow high impact knowledge-based companies in South Carolina,” SC Launch! Director and Senior Vice President of Operations of SCRA’s SC Public Interest Research Sector Dave McNamara said. “SC Launch! not only provides funding to companies in South Carolina that have this potential, but also collaborates with organizations that are willing to help create an ecosystem of support to maximize the likelihood of success.

“SC Launch!’s partnering program offers services firms, entrepreneurs and client companies collaborative opportunities that previously did not exist in South Carolina to advance the Knowledge Economy,” he said. “The results of partnering will be successful enterprises that advance technology and generate high-paying Knowledge Economy jobs, all of which will enhance the state’s quality of life and provide strong prospects for all South Carolinians in the new economy.”

SC Launch! partners will receive access to SC Launch!-supported, emerging growth companies and will further gain visibility through the SC Launch! Web site, networking opportunities, exhibit opportunities at important conferences and trade shows, and discounted rates at SC Launch! seminars.

“This will be a competitive process. We will select a limited number of firms in each category,” Miriam Wilson, SC Launch! program manager, said. “We will seek companies willing to offer unique and exclusive services that provide strong value to our participating companies. The key to selection will be a strategic fit of the services offered in addition to quality, innovativeness and affordability.”
