Looking for some experience for your resume? The United Way is looking for a volunteer IT director to help with their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. The details are below:
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program provides free tax assistance to individuals and families earning up to $49,000 a year. Last year, the VITA program served over 1,700 people and returned over $1.3 million to Greenville residents in tax returns. This coming tax season, we will be expanding to 16 tax preparation sites (including a mobile tax site) and intend to serve over 2,100 people.
The IT coordinator will be an essential part of this process, with the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring all laptops and printers are functioning properly
- Troubleshooting software/hardware problems
- Being available to deliver equipment to sites if needed
- Removing all data from laptops at the end of the tax season
