fDi Intelligence, a specialist division of the Financial Times, has ranked Greenville, SC as number one on its first ever list of the top 10 micro cities of the future. The magazine and its website used a variety of factors in the categories of Economic Potential, Cost Effectiveness, Human Resources, Quality of Life, Infrastructure and Business Friendliness in making their assessments.
The Infrastructure category included technology factors like speed of internet. Business Friendliness also measured a number of companies which have been identiefied as being within the high tech manufacturing and service sectors.
