People interested in the burgeoning community gardening movement in Greenville now have a new website thanks to Gardening For Good, a nonprofit group that received a grant from web design company Engenius.
The Engenius Grants serve nonprofit organizations in Abbeville, Anderson, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens and Spartanburg counties. Each grant includes a Nonprofit Website Package, two years of hosting and support, logo design, social media marketing consulting and more. Each 2012 grant is valued at $3,708. Engenius has been offering the grants for the past three years
Reece Lyerly, Gardening for Good’s director, said he learned about the grants through Engenius’ blog and became interested.
“Gardening for Good is a network of gardens and people,” he said. “We needed a strong web presence and we needed a tangible way for people to get involved.”
Some highlights of the Engenius-created website include an interactive map of community gardens in the Greenville area, links to area gardeners, plans for creating a community garden and volunteering opportunities.
