How to Boom in times of Gloom

I asked PepWorks Chief Encouragement Officer, and upcoming presenter, Greg Blake, what the audience should expect to hear on July 8th. This is what he told me:

The Opening Line of the Tale of Two Cities says…

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times These are truly the times that try men’s souls.. and women’s souls.

A billboard in Atlanta sums it all up, “Due to the recent stimulus package, bailouts and current market conditions, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.”

Our 401 Ks have become K’s at best. So how do you keep your sanity in a world seemingly gone insane? How do you thrive and not just survive?

How do you get stressed for success in times of economic distress?

You will learn 5 Lifeblood Principles to help you Boom in Times of gloom

  • Passion, Priorities and Purpose are paramount
  • Lead with integrity character and ethical behavior
  • Accept and embrace change in a changing technological world
  • Share your heart with your people along with your mind
  • Make a difference in the life of one person today
  • Attitude and a true north mindset is crucial for success

Success is what we do WITH others on a day to day basis

Join us for all of this and more at the GSATC Learning Lunch on July 8!

What people said about our June learning lunch…

We love fan mail…

Thank you so much for the lunch yesterday. Awesome deal bringing in Kevin from AWS. You know I enjoyed hearing what he had to say and meeting him. Keep up the awesome job down there in SC.
- Troy Tolle, VP & CTO, DigitalChalk

It was extremely informative and very professionally done as always. I attend a lot of networking events, and the GSATC functions are by far, the most well run, informative, and entertaining events. We are looking to branch out our business into other parts of SC, and it is a shame that this network does not exist in other areas…hint, hint.
- Dave Garner, Immedion

The amazon stuff was mind-boggling. I’d like to share it with others.
- George

Excellent lunch today! … The topic was very appropriate, I’ve been considering building a few web apps and running them in the cloud and now I have a much better understanding of the aws and will likely give them a try this year, thanks to the presentation.
- Dan Wooster, The Worthwhile Company

Good meeting – Great Speaker. I wasn’t aware of AWS at all.
Bob Williams, Williams Technology Solutions

About Today’s Lunch

We have a big crowd showing up today, and the online registration is closed, but you can still show up and pay at the door. I’d advise showing up just a little bit early and using that time to meet someone new. We’ll be at the Embassy Suites, and the lunch line opens at 11:30.

The details about today’s lunch with Amazon.com.

GSATC Website Programming Notes

We’ve had a couple of unexpected outages of the website over the past few weeks. We’ve got a support request into our host, but no answer back. We will let you know what’s going on as soon as we find out. Unrelated to this, we’ve been readying some upgrades and light cosmetic changes to the website. Again, we post a note here once all is as we think it should be.

Video: Securing the future of IT in South Carolina

At the May GSA Technology Council Learning Lunch, Lonnie Emard, the Executive Director of the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management discussed the mission of this newly formed group. He described how the Consortium is working to assist the efforts of other educational and economic development organizations to ensure that South Carolina is producing enough students interested in entering the field of Information Technology to supply the future needs of area employers. Lonnie says that companies in Health Care IT, like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina are concerned that in the future they may not be able to find the talent they need.

Interested in a SharePoint Best Practices Users Group?

I got a note from someone saying that they would like to have a SharePoint group get together to discuss the trials and tribulations and hopefully, triumphs of your SharePoint implementations. If you’d like to know more about that, drop me an email and I’ll see if we can get this group going.

GSATC: Live Chat, your questions and answers today

GSATC Question Time on PIBBSome people don’t get to make it to our meetings. Others make it, but I don’t get a chance to talk to them or ask questions or answer their questions, so I’m going to try to see if we can help each other out. Today at 1PM, we’ll have an hour of Live Chat with Phil Yanov (and whoever else wanders by) about the GSATC. We’re going to use a text chat service, Pibb, so you can pop a window open and lurk or jump in and ask (or answer) some questions. We’ll follow up on Ta5, and talk about upcoming meetings.
