Worthwhile Adds Megan Finnern as Account Executive

Worthwhile, a customer-driven digital strategy firm with offices in Greenville, S.C., and Charlotte, N.C., is pleased to announce the hiring of account executive Megan E. Finnern.

As an account executive, Finnern will work to grow relationships so that Worthwhile can serve clients strategically and consistently. She will work out of Worthwhile’s Greenville headquarters. Finnern joins Worthwhile with a background in both digital marketing and communications and in client relations. She is active in Greenville Chamber of Commerce and PULSE, and serves on the social media committee for Greenville Family Partnership.

TSAChoice, Inc. Employees Receive Certification

Technology integrator TSAChoice, Inc., with offices in Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC, announces that field technicians Bill Keehan and Ben Bruce completed networking certifications through TSAChoice’s business partner, Cisco. Voice/IT Field Technician Bill Keehan renewed his Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification; and Voice/IT Field Technician Ben Bruce received his Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certification.

Bill Keehan renewed his CCNA certification for Network Specialists, Administrators, and Support Engineers with 1-3 years of network engineering experience, enhancing his ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-sized routed and switched networks. Bill joined TSAChoice in 2012 and has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 14 years. He brings his expertise with both small key and large phone systems to TSAChoice’s upstate SC clients.

Ben Bruce completed training and exams to earn his CCENT certification, validating his ability to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. Ben has been with TSAChoice’s Greenville office for one year after working as a Mitel Direct certified technician for four years. He has extensive experience working with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), web, and data networks.

Worthwhile hires Justin Gammon as Senior Designer

Worthwhile, a customer-driven digital strategy firm with offices in Greenville, S.C., and Charlotte, N.C., is pleased to announce the hiring of senior designer Justin Gammon.

In his role as Senior Designer, Gammon will be a leading voice for aesthetics at Worthwhile. He will support the business goals of Worthwhile’s clients with innovative designs for websites, software, and apps. He will also serve clients with his branding expertise.

Gammon joins Worthwhile after nine years as a designer at Brains on Fire in Greenville. He has a total of 12 years experience in the design industry. Justin’s work has been rewarded with ADDYs recognition by the REBRAND 100 and the Effie Awards.

With the addition of Gammon, Worthwhile has grown from 14 full-time employees to 21 in 2012. Worthwhile also merged with BigNoise to establish a Charlotte location during 2012.

Seth Ebner Hired as Account Executive at Worthwhile

Ebner was previously the owner of TruNORTH Aviation, a company that helped clients find the right aircraft for their unique needs. Ebner brings his expertise in listening to customers and successfully navigating details to his new role as an account executive at Worthwhile.

As an account executive, Ebner will work to grow relationships so that Worthwhile can serve clients strategically and consistently.

Ebner, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, has lived in Greenville, S.C., since 2002.

AT&T Appoints New Vice President and General Manger of Mobility and Consumer Markets for Carolinas

AT&T today announced the appointment of Laurent Therivel as vice president and general manager of Mobility & Consumer Markets for North Carolina and South Carolina.

Therivel previously served as AT&T’s vice president of Corporate Strategy in Dallas, Texas. He was responsible for managing the company’s corporate planning process, including the identification and development of growth platforms critical to the company’s long-term success.

In his new role, Therivel is responsible for the successful operation and overall performance of the North Carolina and South Carolina markets, including business development, product launches and revenue and customer growth.

“I’m excited about leading the North Carolina and South Carolina markets,” Therivel said. “Our customers are our No. 1 focus, and my goal is to provide them with an exceptional experience in our stores and on our network.”

Prior to joining AT&T, Therivel served as chief operating officer for IPcelerate, Inc., a voice over-IP applications development company where he was responsible for the company’s business operations. Before that, he was a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he focused on assisting top executives in driving change in their organizations.

Therivel also served as a telecommunications officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He supervised the operation of all telecommunications and information systems at Marine Air Station Miramar.

Jeff Dezen Public Relations Promotes Ashley Baker to Account Executive

Immedion Looking to Hire Two Senior-Level Positions for Columbia Data Center

Scansource Announces New Chairman of the Board

ScanSourceScanSource, Inc. has announced that Steven R. Fischer has been elected as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Fischer has served as a director of the Company since December 1995 and is succeeding James G. Foody, who has served as Chairman of the Board since December 2005 and as a director of the Company since December 1995. Mr. Foody will continue to serve as a director of the Company and has been designated as Chairman Emeritus.

Dr. Tom Quantrille Named to GADC Board

Tom+QuantrilleThe Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC), the county-chartered organization tasked with promoting and enhancing the economic growth of Greenville County, announced the addition of Dr. Thomas E. Quantrille, president and chief executive officer of Advanced Composite Materials, LLC to the organization’s Board of Directors.

“Mr. Quantrille is extremely knowledgeable about the Greenville community and has historically played an active and important role in helping to attract quality jobs and organizations to Greenville County,” said Jerry Howard, GADC President and CEO, in making the announcement. “He will make an exceptional addition to the leadership team for our community and for this organization.”

Mr. Quantrille is a long-time resident of Greenville County who has served in multiple roles with Advanced Composite Materials in Greer since 2002, when he joined the organization from BBA Group, plc in Simpsonville. Prior to BBA, he also held leadership positions in research, marketing and product development with both Poly-Bond, Inc. and The Procter & Gamble Company. He holds both a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech, is a published author, and holds numerous patents pertaining to advanced materials technologies including composite ceramics as well as nonwoven fabrics and fibers. He is active on the Greenville Works Advanced Manufacturing cluster leadership committee, and serves as an elder at Heritage Bible Church.

“As the head of a company that has benefited from the services that the GADC provides, Mr. Quantrille brings a unique perspective and talent set to the table to assist firms seeking to relocate or expand here,” said Mike Buiter, GADC Board chairman. “As president of a high-technology manufacturing firm in Greenville, he understands the needs of the business community well, and will provide invaluable help in promoting this community with prospective businesses.”

Mr. Quantrille replaces former Board member Randy Britton.
