UWITUpstate Women in Technology will celebrate the holiday season with their Annual Holiday Party on December 13th at The Lazy Goat Restaurant in downtown Greenville.

Join them for food, a necklace gift exchange, and catching up with your favorite women in IT.

Upstate Women in Technology Meet November 8

UWITUpstate Women In Technology presents “Translation Tools for Business and Pleasure” at their November 8 lunch meeting at City Range. Aubrae Wagner, Sr VP Operations & Strategic Development, works with Greenville based EnVeritas Group to develop content for clients worldwide. As part of her work, she deals with client translation needs. At this luncheon, she will cover human translation, computer translation or a hybrid approach; translation vs. localization; multilingual search engine optimization; and translation tools for travelers.

UWITUpstate Women in Technology presents, “Project Management – Tools of the Trade” with Jennie Fowler, Certified Master Project Manager with 20 years of PM experience for its May 24 meeting.

The presentation will serve as a “one stop” PM toolkit that can be used to make life easier. The technique is useful for IT or enterprise project management.

Upstate Women in Technology Meet January 26

UWITUpstate Women in Technology bring in the new year with “Business Ethics – Tough Decisions, No Problem!” on January 26th at noon. The event will take place at City Range Restaurant for an hour long interactive discussion on business ethics by Linda Gallicchio, Associate Director of Rutland Institute for Ethics at Clemson University.

UWIT Hosts a Summer Social July 28

UWITThe annual UWIT Summer Social event returns next week. Join UWIT at ITT Tech for an informal get-together to catch up and socialize. Lunch will be catered and the cost is $11 per person (please bring a cash payment).

There will also be a collection for household goods and clothing to donate to Safe Harbor.

UWITUpstate Women in Technology present, “SAS 70 Certification – Does Your Company Need One?” Presenter, Daniel Cullen, Senior Manager at Elliott Davis talks about what a SAS 70 certification is all about.

Strong internal controls are important at your organization. Do you know what internal controls are present at the service organizations that house, touch, or even process your critical data? This presentation will discuss the importance of obtaining a SAS 70 from your important service vendors and how to review them. The discussion will also include what types of organizations should be obtaining a SAS 70 and about the changes coming to the SAS 70 audit.

Being at the top of the list for a project, job, or promotion has almost more to do with what people know about you personally than it does your skills. During this lunch and learn you will get tips and tricks on how to market yourself, promote your expertise, and to create your own personal brand. Learn to position yourself in a way that gets your work noticed, you noticed and keeps you at the top of your “market.”
