Upstate Women in Technology Meet August 12

The speaker for the August meeting will be Kathleen Anderson, owner of Upper Extremity Rehab Specialists. Kathleen is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience, her topics will include setting up your workstation and neck, shoulder and hand issues. Lance Behymer, Regional Sales Director for Sprint, will present information on the latest mobile technology solutions for business. Lance has 15 years of communication experience with Sprint and Cisco Systems. He presentation will discuss the future of the “un-thethered work place”. GSATC May Meeting at Palmetto Expo Center

Join the Upstate Women in Technology on Thursday, May 13 for lunch as Carin Slader presents an interesting topic on computer viruses, pop-up advertising and spyware. Carin will discuss how to recognize them, how they work, and how to protect yourself from identity theft.

Lunch starts at 12:00 and costs $11.00 at City Range. Please RSVP to let us know if you will or will not be attending. Please take note of the date change for this meeting.

Stratatomic Launches New Website for Cotton Owens Garage

The Upstate Women In Technology will soon be meeting at the Buck Mickel Center for a working lunch where they will be learning how to get their resumes ready for the current hiring environment. All are invited to join them for this working session at Greenville Tech during the lunch hour on April 8th from 11:30 - 1:30. Dr. Marcus Newberry Speaks To Upstate Women

Dr. Marcus Newberry, founder of the Cooper River Bridge Run and The Nutritional Health Center, will be speaking to the Upstate Women In Technology about Healthy Greenville 2025, a part of the Greenville 2025 Vision. Healthy Greenville 2020 has a simple message, motivation, inspiration and innovation will be instrumental in health reform at a grass roots level. IBM Demos New Nanotechnology Method to Build Chip Components

The December 11 speaker for the Upstate Women in Technology is Valerie Miller, partner in the Greenville and Spartanburg Budget Car and Truck Rental and Budget Car Sales. Ms. Miller is author of the manual, “Management’s Role in Customer Care,” and a professional speaker.


In fifteen years in the Upstate of South Carolina, Ms. Miller has served in leadership roles for St. Francis Hospital, Greenville Tech, Greenville County Schools, Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Greenville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Better Business Bureau, Greenville Little Theater, and the Upstate Visual Arts. One of her highest professional moments was when she received the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Person of the Year Award. She currently serves as a Commissioner for the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport and is on the Advisory Board of Central Carolina Bank.

Non-Profit Technology Group Leaders To Meet

The speaker at Thursday’s UWIT meeting will be Yolanda Worley. Yolanda has over 20 years experience in the IT world and is now the Digitech Systems Client Development Manager for 12 southeastern states.
